CAPSI seminar - Bipolar Disorder

CAPSI UofT and UW x UTIHI will be offering an IPE event intended to promote a thoughtful discussion regarding healthcare professionals’ collaboration in actual practice, focusing on how an interprofessional team works together to solve a patient case. The event will feature panelists from more than one health professional program.

                Students will have the opportunity to apply their knowledge of interprofessional relationships and collaboration to a patient case through a guided discussion. This event will allow students to learn how to form interprofessional relationships in future practice and further understand the role of other healthcare professionals, as well as the importance of interprofessional collaboration in the context of patient care.

                The panel of healthcare professionals will feature a pharmacist, social worker, psychiatrist and nurse, who all practice at CAMH.

Objectives

  1. Gain further insight about interprofessional collaboration in real life practice in the context of bipolar disorder
  2. Learn how to facilitate forming interprofessional relationships in future practice in the context of bipolar disorder
  3. Further understand the role of other healthcare professionals in caring for patients with bipolar disorder
  4. Understand the importance of interprofessional collaboration in patient centered care when caring for patients bipolar disorder
